Foxton at 620ish last Wednesday:
Boulder garden was more straight forward that at low flows. Lots of hard aeration, so when you take the drops, your momentum pushes you into the next pool. Keep in mind that there are some fiercly undercut rocks in the garden, so be heads up.
At foxton road, I opted to sneak the top drop river right. Taking it on the left would be a bit tricky.
At 620, the larger drop near Dome Rock was a bit decieving, the center line over the big rock has some piton potential, river right would probably be the "safe line."
Otherwise, holes were a bit stickier, but nothing was too pushy and for a change, the run wasn't bony. No nasty wood to report.
The river wide surf wave at the bend in the road was delicious. Lots of great play features all the way down.
Have fun! Be safe!
On a side note, next time flow is good on Foxton, I'd like to do a quick cleanup. There's trash bins, although the picnic folk don't seem to use them. Ten people picking up trash for an hour or so could do some great things for the aesthetics at this little gem.
