Late fall has traditionally been a good time to step away from the shop for a few days to recharge a bit, to regain perspective. The long, hot, hectic summer has finally faded from the frontlines of memory, and the deepest corners of winter have yet to present themselves. Transitional.
The usual suspects all had scheduling conflicts so it ended up as just two of us enjoying a delightfully soggy few days in coastal NorCal.
I'll never likely find myself living in the rainforest, so fond am I of dry dirt and sunshine. But I can foresee a time when I -- we -- live closer than we do now, for more convenient access to all of the goodness therein.
