I had a near-entrapment like that last spring. I was bouncing down the side of the river and tried to push myself away from shore. I didn't get trapped, but felt my leg go in a hole and a rock instantly bit. Somehow I quickly balled up and my leg came free and I floated downriver. I had a nasty bruise on my calf and a matching one on my ankle.
