Eagle River Clean Up

There are a number of trees in the Eagle River, some of which were not washed out with low water last spring and summer. I would like to get a crew of boaters together Wednesday the 8th of May to mitigate some if not all of the iminent hazards from Bobs Bridge down to the Sanitation Plant in Edwards. I have talked with some friends at Vail Valley Anglers here in Edwards and they are willing to contact the owner of the ranch so we are not trespassing at the end of "The Mile" where a significant strainer exists. If you boat the Upper Eagle it would be nice to show your support.

Planning on floating from Bobs Bridge with hand saws if possible. I know it may be more work but I will be in a kayak. If we have enough hands it shouldnt be a problem with hand saws and webbing or rope. Feedback?

Stil working out the deatails on what time. I would like to meet at the takeout next to the Sanitation Plant. Boatwise it depends what the level is that day. If the water goes up I'll take my 10.5 hyside with one or two others. If not, my roommate and I kayaked it at 204 CFS so that would be the way to go. If you have access to hand a hand saw bring it. Chainsaws would be ideal, but if the river won't let us use big enough boats then we work a bit harder for our river karma. Rope and webbing would be good as well. Thanks for the interest everyone!

Looks like I have a meeting at 10:00 Wednesday morning so I was thinking 12-12:30 at the takeout would be best to meet. The water needs to go up a touch in order to proceed with the original float and clean idea. If it does not we may need to re-schedule. I am willing to do this in the rain as i feel it needs to be done asap. Let me know your thoughts.
