Dropping a trikor near the payette

I'm on my way to the payette and am looking for a place to drop a camper for the next 5-6 days. It looks like there is a lot of BLM land that might work, but thought I would ask for suggestions. Any thoughts are appreciated!! PM or post back!!
Thanks!!
Beth

There are developed and dispersed sites in the national forest along the middle fork Payette. Or go up the South Fork either to Hot springs campground or turn right at the Southfork Landing sign and cross Alder creek bridge then turn left and there are dispersed campsites along the south fork payette river.

Thanks for the info. I haven't tracked with a camper before so am unsure how hard it will be to find (preferably) free camping with one of these things.
Thanks again for the directions!

Hey Beth,

It's Curtis. Yeah... Treehugger is right on. If you want to run the upper South Fork like the Canyon or Grand Jean, might I suggest some wide spots along Highway 21 past Lowman or Kirkam Hotsprings Campground. I've been crazy busy this summer, but I can show you down some of our local runs as well. The South Fork Canyon is my favorite.

Just tell everyone back in Colorado that Idaho is flat, full of potato fields, dry, and really boring.

Middle Fork Payette has a lot of sites about 20-30 minutes up the road from Banks/Lowman Highway.

You won't find much near Banks or along 55.

Or you could try parking in front of the garage at 6 deer point rd... It is the one at the end of the cul de sac. It will save you 15 minutes from camping anywhere else on the middle fork. The home owner is a real sweet lady who loves people camping in trailers........ I attached a link to a previous post so you will know when you are in the right place....
