"Douche" Labyrinth sect. Naranjo beta

Going to CR in November and really want to run the Labyrinth section of the Naranjo and wondering what you'd compare Douche to here in Colorado and also if it can be portaged?

Looking for more paddlers too. Just got airfare from AmericaWest for $350 rt including taxes\charges Nov 3-12.

Im not sure what the labyrinth section is but I paddled a class III section of the naranjo last november on a guided trip with Mad Max Young from Denver. It was an awesome class III, some really nice rapids and spectacular scenery. Sounds like you're talking about a more difficult section of the naranjo though? The rio savegre also near quepos was a fun larger volume class IIIish run, if you do this one watch out for the very large crocodile who makes his home at the take out though.

Im curious, are you going to rent a car for shuttles or hire a driver/van? Renting boats or bringing your own?

Bringing playboats. AmericaWest charges $80 each way. Gonna try to curb check them with a $20 for the attendant and see what happens. Looking at mostly class 4 bigwater stuff.

Turns out some friends booked the same flight as we did and gonna chip in on their rental car (4x4) to get upto Turriabla and maybe a shuttle or two with it. One day on the Pacuare we will pay an outfitter because we'll have 3+ kayakers and someone needing a ride on the a raft. Other than that mostly hiring drivers.

Not sure what the scene in Quepos is but like to head there for the last few days to catch the Naranjo and do some surfing\beach time south of town.
