Dolores was running this weekend

Not to many knew the dolores was running this weekend 800 in lows up to almost 2000cfs. this was all natural flows not a release. This was measured at slickrock. a couple other groups ran slickrock to bedrock, basically had the river to ourselves.

It's pumpin' right now. It went over 1000 last night. It's all running off the Glade area. There is a good amount of snow up there. With the current forecast I'd expect it to run through the week. The upper D is raftable now too. The San Miguel is way up. It's early but everything is running!

Enjoy it while it's there. It's not looking good for the Dolores this year. Dolores Water Conservancy District

Don't believe those forecasts from the Water Conservancy District. That's a pretty inept group running the show down there. I don't know any of them but I've seen their work. Last year was a joke in forecasting and operations.

There is a lot of low elevation snow they aren't accounting for. The high country of this drainage was 113% of average last week. The lake did get low over the winter but I don't see how there won't be a pretty good spill.

But an early spill probably... We're praying for May 30.

The dusty snowpack will probably push the spill earlier. Last year was a dusty snowpack with less snow in the high country and lower country and it still released until the end of May.
