Dogs and Cops at WestWater

But not at the same time...

We just finished up a Ruby Horsethief WestWater trip and were pleased to see county sheriffs checking out Loma as we passed by. We also had a state trooper do a drive through at WW while we were there. We were concerned about the breakins, so we launched at RimRock instead of Loma. Its nice to see the cops looking out for boaters.
While we were riggin boats in the AM I heard a bit of a rucus across the camp. It was a chick getting reamed by the sheep rancher next door for feeding his dogs. avoid feeding the big white dogs.....
Boater dogs continue to be a little bit of a problem, but it was just the people taking off after Ruby/HT that disregarded the dogs on leash sign and let their critters run around and mark peoples stuff. One of the boulders that seperate camp from parking had a big ol crap down the side of it. be careful where you set your tooth brush down.

because dog shit is biodegradable does not mean it's "natural" or okay for you to leave your dog crap wherever it lay...I'm afraid this is the attitude that makes it impossible for me to walk in the park without carefully watching where i step.

Fantastic: the yearly "how much harder can we beat that dead horse" thread. Guess the season has really started now!

Dog owners - leash your dog, clean up after them, and make sure they are safe. Everyone else - get over it, or go to a national park instead of Westwater.
