Cross Creek

Looks like Cross is at a decent flow right now. Anyone know if the gate is open? Anyone paddled it yet this season?

Thanks!

I hit Homestake and Gilman last week and was able to make it to the takeout. If the gate is before that then, yes, it's open. But I'd call the Forest Service first before making a drive of more than an hour. Or, just go for it and if you get skunked you got Homestake and Gilman to fall back on.

Tigiwon usually doesn't open until late june or july. I think there is about a 0.00009% chance its open now. Probably still snow on the shady banks at the creek right now as well. Cross is an "on the way down" kind of creek. Hope you guys are getting the goods.

Last I heard the vail boys let it get choked with wood. Any word on a clean. Does the RCRE have to come down and clean your creeks?

I was planning on biking-in this weekend to test my badassery. Can I do that at this point?

RCRE definitely needs to do some cleaning. The Vail posse is too busy buying brand new AT Paddles. I think you can get as far as the takeout. The takeout is only a mile or so from the Gilman takeout anyway so you can walk fairly easily if you had too.
