Crested Butte Report-

Currently Accessible Creeks: OBJ, Upper East, Slate

OBJ: Road open to campground. Slate too high to cross in vehicle, snow on road on other side anyway. The river is pretty high. Some new wood but no deal breakers, all the same lines are in. Stay heads up as more wood will come down as it melts out of avvy debris.

East: Road open. Some new wood but no deal breakers, all the same lines are in. Stay heads up as more wood will come down as it melts out of avvy debris.

The Slate is too high to cross at this time and there is still snow on the road to OBJ.

Re-update

Slate river road is now open to Pittsburg, which is where you cross the Slate to Daisy.

So as of now, OBJ, Daisy and Slate are all accessable and you'll need to hike Daisy and OBJ.

Flows came down with cold over the past 2 days to a medium level.

Help.....We need somebody....Help

Hey guys,

Thanks for these updates. Could you keep it going for us NW Colorado brothas'?

Weather forecast is mid-60s through the weekend. What are the flows doing on OBJ? We want to drive down Saturday night and boat Sunday. Think that's doable?

Meng, you posted right as I posted so I edited. Think the flows will be good Sunday?

Thanks again,

JC

Mid-sixties in Crested Butte all weekend. Anyone care to predict the flows for Sunday? We're down with hiking. Better that way. But will the flows hold Sunday? Thanks........

check this gauge:
USGS Real-Time Water Data for USGS 385106106571000 SLATE R AB BAXTER GL @HWY 135 NR CRESTED BUTTE CO

it's lower down the slate than the old gage and probably catches some extra runnoff, e.g., from whetstone possibly. but it should be a pretty good indicator. had a small peak from today, likely a bit bigger tomorrow with some warm temp momentum. reading 740 now, probably like 600ish on old slate gauge. so l'd bet medium for sunday, maybe high side of medium. when this gauge gets back over 1000, probably back into the high category.
