Creek Boat Safety help needed for the Lyons Outdoor Games

For each of the past 3 years of the Lyons Outdoor Games, we have had awesome safety for the Adam Barron Memorial Creek Race. SSV is a no-joke run to have a race in, and requires people that know safety...
We need roughly 12 more people to provide adequate safety for the race at the moment. The Creek Race is the morning of June12th. Your help would be very appreciated. We do provide goodies for those people that do help. Last year it was various models of Smith Sunglasses. Not sure what we'll have this year, but the biggest prize you get is a front row seat to an genuinely steep run that makes for a top notch race.
The look on the faces of the best kayakers in the world tell the story as they come through the split just past the entrance of the gNarrows...
For anyone that helped last year, it would be great to have you all again. You guys were great. For anyone that wants to help, please contact me at marty at jackson kayak dot com.

Thanks!

Oh, and 2010 Lyons Outdoor Games are that whole weekend of the race (11th, 12th, 13th.). Great live music, Dales Pale Brewery (Oskar Blues), in-town camping, short track racing, free style kayak comp, steep creek race... LOTS OF STUFF THIS YEAR... Fire it up. Lyons Outdoor Games

We still need some more safety volunteers. This is truly a fun event to watch.

Does the race have a high flow cutoff? Seems like SSV is raging right now. Is the race still on if the water stays high?

Went up and did ssv today, the narrows is too high for me to race, I doubt if it is this level that any local will run it, a swim has to high a penalty for me. At this level I noticed that the 4th drop (one above jihad) has a very bad sieve that is in play and stuffed with wood on river right. Hope it comes down or we can find a diiferent race because it is too high for my taste.

Last discussion with the guys that measure the water is that they are expecting a drop in the flows. A significant drop expected by Saturday. Marty and Solomon are the two final words on the race with input from a whole group of creek boaters. Stay tuned.

Great Frenchy. Look forward to seeing you.

Sounds like we could still use a few more able bodies up there.
