Creek at the Peak DownRiver Race-June 10,2011 DUMONT!

Hi All,

I don't know if this has been posted yet - but GOALS (founded by Brett Hochmuth) is a fantastic non-profit (www.Goals4Youth.org) and this is going to be a ROCKING EVENT on Dumont!

Three categories: Womens Kayak, Mens Kayak and Raft!

Check out all the details here: CREEK at the PEAK Downriver Race on Clear Creek - June 10th, 2011

(Admin: Sticky Please? - nonprofit).

Thanks for posting, Patty - you beat me to the punch!
Wanted to make sure the web site was all polished before posting here, but if there are any changes that need to be made, I can do that as the need arises.
I am, of course, VERY excited to announce the 1st annual CREEK at the PEAK Downriver Race. With this year's snowpack waiting to run, June 10th should be BIG water on the creek. This inaugural event, sponsored by Tommyknocker Brewery to benefit GOALS, will feature 3 race classes - each with great prize money for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. ALL registration fees collected benefit GOALS, a local nonprofit whose mission is to INSPIRE EXPLORATION IN YOUTH THROUGH MULTI-DAY WILDERNESS RIVER TRIPS.

Participants will receive an event t-shirt, a swag bag, and even a ticket for FREE BEER at the post party, featuring Durango-based bluegrass band WAITING ON TRIAL and a new kayak give-away.

Don't miss this event - registration numbers ARE limited, so please check out www.creekatthepeak.com today!

Playhole is in Lawson, the tri-city area can be confusing. Dumont launch is on the south side of the highway 1 exit east of the Conoco in Downieville. Go across the bridge, turn left, you'll pass the trailer park, then then waste treatment plant, the ex-superfund clean-up site, put-in is across from the ambulance garage down by the oil spill monitoring station, if you get to the rodeo ground or shooting range you missed it.

There will be no maximum boat size, but the maximum team size for raft race teams will be 7.

So I was thinking it would be really cool if you could post this event on facebook because I'm friends with a bunch of creek guides and that would be a much easier way to spread the word. Or not. Just an idea. Let me know what u think. If not maybe I could just make an unofficial one.
