Havn't heard of anything, but would be interested to see how the hell they are going to climb those mud walls and duck past the deconstruction crews.

I think i recall it being one of the outfitters and sanctioned by the government. Not a bunch of buzzards on a commando raid past checkpoint charlie

Darn. I had secretly hoped there was some clandestine operation brewing. Yea, Zollers went in and rafted the stretch below the dam within a week or so after the initial breach, with PC people I think. I remember them saying that it was one of the scariest trips they had done. Not just scary wood, but scary wood in the shape of spears ready to slice you open kinda of raft trip. Maybe that's what you heard about. There were some newspaper articles about it, so you could probably find it on google.

Thats odd. It doesnt look like the lake was that deep -- either that or the river is still bottlenecked at the breach hole in the dam.

That view is from the bridge near the old takeout at the head of Northwestern Lake. I tried driving up Powerline road but stopped at the no tresspassing signs

I was on the white salmon until mid september this last season and got to see all of the preparation that went into the damn breach. Northwestern Lake was super shallow and they were able to drain most of it in the weeks leading upto the big boom. As for the new section of river below the dam... it was awesome earlier in the season. I duckied it with a couple kayaker friends while it was still pumpin. one major log jam existed prior to the removal and 2 or 3 notable rapids, one of which is a pretty fun triple drop section pretty quick after the dam before the old pumphouse. I would love to see some more pictures of the aftermath if anyone has any.
