Colorado River Wild and Scenic - Rafters Meeting!
Dear Rafters: You are invited to a meeting at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, in Frisco to learn about the issues and what may or may not happen with a potential federal Wild and Scenic eligibility determination on the Colorado River Mainstem from Kremmling to Glenwood Canyon.
The meeting is in the Mount Royal Room of the County Commons building in the county complex just outside of Frisco, on the way to Breckenridge on Highway 9. The meeting room is in the same building as the library, so if you follow signs to the library, you will be at the right place. The address is County Commons Building, 0037 County Road 1005.
At the meeting, you will learn what Wild and Scenic means, and how a group is working on an alternative plan that would preserve Wild and Scenic values under a more flexible program that also addresses flows in the river. That program must be submitted to federal officials on May 31. The organizers of the plan are eager for you to understand the issues and provide comment.
Please help spread the word.
