Someone needs to push a CDOT truck into the river to demonstrate what spring runoff means.

I don't know the mile markers well, will we have access to any part of the canyon? Black Rock? Could we access it from 70 instead?

Based on the notice, the only way you could run Blackrock is to start at Upper Clear Creek take out and paddle all the way down to the Golden Play Park.

The closure is from the take out of the Upper run (where 119 splits off and goes to Blackhawk) to 6th and 93 in Golden.

closure this week is from golden to the turn off to blackhawk, which is the takeout for the upper run. closure is from 7am-2pm, you can boat blackrock & lower after 2pm each day.

I believe the "7A-2P" means it will be open for business in the afternoons (after 2PM or thereabouts). This would be consistent with the roadside signs they've had up for some time.

Since they say "Road closure began May 18th, 2009 at 9:28am" (today), we should be able to get a confirmation if anybody tried to go up there after work this afternoon.

Anybody? Bueller???

Just got back from a Kermit's run and the canyon is open for business. The only plans this will crimp are the dawn patrols.
