Clear creek

I have been seeing a track-hoe in clear creek lately. Does anyone know what they are doing?

Some fishing group is rehabbing the 2-3 miles flat stretch below the turn off to Blackhawk to improve fishing.

Any chance that they could make Cripps Hole more retentive?

It is trout unlimited. There was a post on here a couple months ago about it. ( sorry, I'm doing this from my cell otherwise I'd post the link)

That section is class II+ to III ......maybe when they are done we will have a couple of dumont style drops. .....if we are lucky.

Otherwise cc could use some better fishing.

I was playing in the new hole at the rafting takeout below the HWY 119 traffic light a couple of weeks ago ( the day after they finished it). It was 175 CFS and had decent side surfing, spins and nice Enders into the 6' deep pool that they dug out. It could be pretty good at higher water, but next season will tell.
It's rare to have nice pools for rolling in this stretch, but now there are a half dozen.
