Cheap New Denver Pool Sessions

The Auraria Campus Recreation Center now has pool sessions that are open to the public.

The pool is located in the PE Building. http://www.mscd.edu/~cra/cra/campusmap.htm
You do not have to park in lot R like it suggests. Here is a parking map; it is better to carpool! http://www.ahec.edu/parking/ParkingMap2008.pdf Lot B is not a bad place to park.

-Cost
Students/Staff/Faculty (Has a school ID) $25 (for the semester, use of gear in pool)
Public $50 (semester*), $5 (per pool session) NO use of school gear

* The semester means you have assess to all the pool sessions listed below

- Pool sessions:

Mondays: 5:30-8
Feb: 2, 9, 16, 23
March: 2, 9, 16, 30, (no pool session 23, spring break)
April: 6, 13, 20, 27
May: 4

Friday: 5-7
Feb: 20

I am able to take cash or checks at the pool, but not credit cards. If you plan on signing up for the entire semester, please pre-register with the Outdoor Adventure Office. 303-556-8363.

There is no direct instruction associated with the open pool sessions but there will be OA staff floating around (me) that will answer question.

Let me know if you have any questions

Christine

Ok, dude that is a low blow and not even close to what the OA intended to do.

The Auraria Campus Outdoor Adventure Program set up pool sessions to allow students a very affordable way to get into the pool on a regular basis, learn to kayak, network, and get ready for the upcoming boating season.
We are not trying to take any business away from anyone else. We opened the pool up to the public because a few of my friends asked me if I could. If we had more gear we could “rent” it out but the program is just getting going and I wanted a way Denver boaters could come in at cost if they wanted to (we have to pay for the lifeguard and program costs to be there). We don’t make a profit, we just want to kayak and get as many others excited to boat as well!

The OA has worked with Confluence before and as I am aware, the relationship between the two is very professional.

FYI from a few weeks ago (just for you to read again Sorkin):
Confluence Kayaks' pool sessions and lessons start Jan 6th.
We run them every Tuesday night from 8-10pm.
Lessons are held at the University of Denver, Ritchey Center Pool.

Rates are the same as the last couple of years.
Open Pool $10
Open pool with gear $25
Pool lesson with Gear $49
Pool lesson no Gear $39
3 lesson intro series $129
Please call the shop at 303-433-3676 to register.
