Chattfield reservoir to Avenu Chutes

Thinking of doing this float next week, I am learning to kayak, so heard this is a good one to do, and I can do it after work. Anything I should know!? I hear the rapids are "marked" with rocks on either side, so you know where to go. Is it anything else I should know!?
Thank you for all your help,

Probably good to go

This run is mostly flat water with a few drops, mostly at Reynolds Landing. People tube this section regularly as it is very accessible and attainable. Water quality drops as you make your way towards town.

Take a look at the larger drops/boat chutes at Reynolds if you're nervous.

No, Reynolds and Union Chutes are not the same location. Reynolds Landing is a South Suburban park in Littleton essentially at the new Breckenridge Brewery that is about 2.5 -3 miles downstream from C470. Union Chutes is the set of man-made drops immediately downstream of Union Avenue at Centennial Park in Englewood approximately 6 miles from C470.

Be wary of the flow. The Army Corp has great control of the river volume by releasing from Chatfield. I help take elementary aged paddlers down this stretch 650 cfs is okay, a little more is better.

I think the river has been turned off as it dropped to 450cfs overnight.

Consider shuttle if you park at the C470 put in, the gates to the parking area are locked at sunset.
