Chatfield-Confluence South Platte

The Chatfield to Confluence run is wide open and looks pretty good for taking noobs out. Be wary of some of the drops at this level. There's a lot of debris in the eddies that was probably accumulated over the last 4 or 5 years. The mank starts specifically at Union on down. Noticed a few logs (removed most) stuck in weird places.

The potential for trees to come down is a lot higher as the current flow out of the gate is 1,100 (+/- 50) CFS. By the time you get past the confluence of Bear Creek, it hits over 1,300 CFS. Be wary of the structure at the Denver Water offices a roughly I-25 & 2nd Ave, especially the trestle. I believe most of the old steel was removed but I seem to remember some rail shards.

If you're a Wildwater DR boater, this is a great time to train for the 26 mile at Fibark.

And the Lord said, let there be whitewater. So on Friday, the 13th day of the month....
