Celebrate the New Boaterized Lower Gunny

You've been reading in other posts about what's been going on for improvements to the Gunny from Pleasure Park to Delta. Now come see for yourself.

On May 18th there's going to be a celebratory, mellow day of floating, food, festivities, and a very cool auction. See all the details in the calendar section.

All the work by so many opens up a whole new chapter for river enthusiasts and fishermen in or visiting Western Colorado. Come see why, have a great time, and support the people who do so much to improve water recreation in our state. This is a major step forward. Lots of unsung heros. Come and show you care about their efforts and the future of our waters

Damn. I'd love to come over and enjoy that, but unfortunately I will be in some slot canyons in Utah at that point.....But thanks for all the updates and info you kept us current with! I certainly appreciate everybodies efforts all around, it's nice to have people thinking positively about boaters!

Watermonkey: Camping at the put-in at Pleasure Park: here's their website & contact info:

Gunnison River Pleasure Park : About Us

Not sure yet about takeout which is at Gunnison River Farms. That's a backcountry fishing resort. They do have cabins, and I'm trying to find out if they'll let anyone pitch a tent at the takeout.

Here's their website. About Us & Contact | Gunnison River Farms

May have an update on this later. The organizers are tied up today giving river tours and they have the final say about camping at takeout.

FYI the shuttle takes about 45 minutes, some dirt, some paved.
