Turner drops into Big Drop 3 a little off line last week:

A-1 Andy tries to surf the ducky on the 10 wave:

so did you motor out, or was there good flow all the way down to the take-out? considering a late-season raft run but don't want to spend a week rowing flat water in a head wind. how many days did you do?

We put in at potash and paddled 2 flatwater days to the confluence and then 2 whitewater days and then one last flatwater out to Hite. The last day had about 10 miles of zero flow and drug on a bit; no motor.

I think it was totally worth it, but if you have heavy 18' boats, the last day could be painful. You could also break up your camps differently, we stopped on Rapid #10 for the surf wave, but could have gone a few more hours and saved some struggle on the last day.

Yes, Carly got a crash course in oar boating and may have outdone her boyfriend.

p.s. Brian, your brother got a blunt on the 10 wave. He is rediculous

Turner drops 1 and 3 were particularly large this year. Joe's quote on shore made it all the better: "should we be in our kayaks just in case something happens" followed by a response along the lines of "it will be fine there is no way turner can swim twice from an oarboat."

I thought Carly screaming "Ryan, what are you doing!? Get back in the boat!" made it even better than our lack of kayak "safety."
