Camping for Fibark?

I am going to Fibark for the first time and I was wondering where the best camping was? I assume all of the music and partying is in Salida and I don't want to drink and drive. Are there any options for camping without driving out to a camp ground? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can car camp just over the bridge on the east side of the river with all us other drunk a-holes. Not sure if you can set up a tent but sleeping in your vehicle last year was fine. You can't drive through the party so you have to get over there on the next bridge upstream.

Too bad they can't come up with some kind of big communal spot for everybody to camp and party. This fest really doesn't have the great vibe of the Cheat or Gauley fest because of that.

yeah, they do need a boater camp. The past few years there was rumor of camping at the high school or some downtown park. That is unconfirmed and from what I heard no alcohol either.

We camp up the hill to the south. turn at the light at Booger King and follow it up about 5 miles. BLM everywhere. Watch out for BLM officer d-bag that will randomly pop out of the woods to check id's and generally cause problems where there are no problems at all.
I've never boated before, but I have posted a lot on Mountain Buzz!

These are directions on what was mentioned above. If you enter Salida from the North, as soon as you go over the Ark, Take the first left, If you see the Salida city limit sign, you just missed it. You will immediately cross back over the river. Go over the train tracks, and go right after the Chevron sign. Follow that gravel road a mile or so, Listen for the music and don't snore after 11.
