BULT helmet camera

https://youtu.be/NEKbgY89JXg

Short video using this camera which is built into the helmet, costing under $50.
Supposed to be weatherproof, not waterproof but I think it handles going through waves and holes OK, as long you dont flip.

comparing above with the Kodak playsport

https://youtu.be/yXKu0WV0P8I

This is the exact same sequence shot simultaneously with a Kodak Playsport which is totally waterproof but costs a lot more.

Yah...Ill stick with my Gopro. All it would take is one deep swim and that weatherproof cam would be toast.

Besides not allowing room for error on getting wet, the quality is pretty poor, unless you have it zoomed in while editing. The GoPro gives better results than either of the above. Granted, they are expensive, but they work.

Stick with GoPro, Sony, or the Garmin VIRB. All these are viable options. The VIRB is what I use, and I found a new one on ebay for like $80.

gopros are going myspace. When Bult makes a full face hd waterproof I'm first in line. Ive lost two go pros, one on Tobins up against a boulder, another got swiped by a fellow paddlers paddler, tomahawked right off. Plus go pros look so dorky. Gopros are great offerings to the river gods. I wish i could find them just to see the footage, 6 hours floating around the river.

As far as knock off brands I'd suggest the Xiaomi Yi for ~70 it can do 1080 60p, and if you don't mind delving in deeper, it's fairly easy to load scripts onto for higher bit rates and flat color profiles. Not as out of the box friendly as a GoPro, but for a fraction of the cost...

Stock setup with no scrips:

That prijon seems to surface super sick too... People can put HD cameras in Cellphones and lap tops, mini pin hole cams, whats a guy got to do to get one put in the old shred ready or sweet helmet. And further more, how about some helmet cams in the NFL, NHL and so on....

Yeah it has a lot of rocker and likes to go fast. I think there is a demo at SOC in Auburn.
