Browns Canyon National Monument Proposal Announcement

I am pleased to announce that Senator Mark Udall will hold a press conference on Tuesday, December 3, to present his final proposal to establish the Browns Canyon National Monument. As you know, this bill is the result of 18 months of working with Chaffee County leaders, residents, and businesses to develop common-sense, community-centered legislation.

The event will be outside so please be prepared for local weather conditions. Due to time constraints, only Senator Udall and a few designated individuals will be speaking to the press.

We expect to post the final bill, map, and fact sheet describing the bill online by Tuesday afternoon at www.markudall.senate.gov/brownscanyon.

So when it becomes a National Monument........and the government shuts down.......what happens to Browns Canyon?

Nothing. The river will continue to be managed by AHRA.
