Bogan Canyon wood

Ran Bogan with Mr. Fun Facts on Saturday 5/19 @ 750 cfs. There is a large tree completely across the river just above the first drop in Bogan not far below the Marble road bridge. It is visible from upstream and portagable on river left, but worthy of a heads up as it would not be fun to tangle with. The level was very forgiving and fun. Stay safe.

Is this a new tree, or the one that has been there for a few years? Last time I ran Bogan (2 seasons ago?) there was a river wide tree shortly below the Marble put in. Half our group portaged and the other half was able to limbo under the corner. Thanks for the heads up.

Not sure as I haven't been in there in a few years. There was no limbo move available. Limbs were still pretty green so I'm thinking it's a fresh one.

It's not near Marble but just down from the bridge half way up the Marble road that crosses the river.

Gotcha. I was confused by the description because we usually put it at the Yule Quarry bridge in Marble. Thanks for posting.

Also, there is a wire of some sort across the river just below the Marble turn off from hwy 133. You can go over the wire in middle of the river or under it far right or left.

Have not been in this year. Levels have not been substantial enough. May head up there later this week. Will take a saw or 2 and hike down from bridge. This area is know for hanging up large trees. Def not the same tree as a few years ago. As for the wire: Is it visible from 133? This may be the same cable that caught a pine a few years ago. It supports a water line across the river? Will take my time and try to clean some of this up.

I don't believe it is visible from the highway. Most of it is dragging in the river.
