Boat Paint Needed!

Greetings all,

I have an old NRS boat that is wearing thin and I am looking for a pint of Gacoflex or a urethane equivalent. NRS doesnt sell either any more because of supply issues. Anyone know where I can get some paint!?

Gimmie a Shout, Cheers!

You didn't state what kind of boat you were painting but I painted a kayak with this and it is fabulous, but it also works on many other things as well. It has to fuse for 7 days though...very important.
Krylon: Products: Fusion for PlasticŪ

Thanks for the reply Brenda. I have a 14ft self-bailer with maybe 9-10 square feet of tube to seal up with paint. The tubes are wearing thin and patching seems like a pain.

I will look into the krylon option. Anyone know how it works on hypalon? Cheers!

How old is your NRS? I ask because I have the same issue with an old Riken and I am thinking of upgrading to a newer NRS.

Gary and Beth (River Gear, Whitewater Rafting Equipment, Raft Repair Supplies - Man of Rubber River Gear) carry it, but are also showing that it is out of stock. I am sure you can call them and they should be able to tell when they expect it to come back in.

If it is for wear pads try this
DEVCON Flexane | Devcon Epoxy | Devcon Instant Adhesives | Devcon Metal Repair | Devcon | Industrial Cleaning Supply | SuperKleen Direct

I think I found it on a place called Weld warehouse once also. It was the Felx Tuff brand.

re: raft paint

After a lengthy search, I finally had to contact Gaco directly this summer to get paint for my snout tubes. The hypalon paint can be found at www.gaco.com/H22.html, or call Gaco western at 800-331-0196. They will only sell black or white in one gallon containers, which means you have to try and mix them to get the gray color of your choosing. In order to get a specific color, you would have to order 500+ gallons. It is also very expensive; one gallon goes for apprx. $160 plus haz-mat shipping charges and a small order surcharge that they may tack on. I don't know the square footage of my snout tubes (a lot), but three gallons was plenty. The stuff was also pretty thick, so a warm and well ventilated place along with a solvent to cut it down will help. Good luck!
