BIG Westwater: Boat Selection Question

So, westwater is forecasted to be between 8-14k this weekend. My only boat is a Bliss-stick RAD 175, i was wondering due to the forecasted highwater if i should think about demoing/renting a bigger river runner from Confluence. a little joe or a mamba or something... im 165 lbs. Real comfortable in my RAD. Should i get something else for the weekend? Any help is appreciated!!!

Stick with the boat you're comfortable in. Westwater's fine and it never really gets too big for the playboat (depending on skill level). If you paddle class IV regularly, Westwater at highwater should be no problem, and 13G isn't that high for Westy. Have fun!

I don't remember exact levels but I do remember Westwater actually being easier at certain higher levels than certain lower ones.

Where is the forcast located ?

Where did you find a forcast for Westwater ? We have a trip starting the 13th, and was wondering if the levels would hold ?

Send a message via AIM to liam dunn
freewheeling and macho moves are hard in a little joe or a mamba down big wave trains. remember that
