Big T stays up; Lower Blue goes UP!
This will be good news for you all, not so great news for fisher-types:
The 325 cfs release from Oly Dam to the Big Thompson canyon will continue through the weekend. So, if ya didn't get out there today, there's still time.
And, if you're up for the drive, we've pushed releases from Green Mountain up quite a bit today. We will be releasing 500 cfs this evening, through the weekend, and into next week. That's 500 cfs.
The reason for both release rates is the same: we're trying to balance filling of reservoirs with the tail end of run-off and the early rise in demands for water from the Colorado-Big Thompson Project. Lake Estes and Oly Dam are the central feature on the C-BT's east slope. Green Mountain is the C-BT's reservoir that serves the west slope.
I'm just glad it was cool and rainy all day today.
Have a great weekend!
