Big T going up!

Run off is definitely coming! Just sent this out to my Big T list:

It looks like run off is beginning to come down from the Rocky Mountains. Warm temperatures during the day cause higher elevation snow melt, which flows down rivers, hitting lower elevations late at night. The Big Thompson is no exception.

Consequently, we will be raising our releases from Olympus Dam on Lake Estes late tonight (May 20) around 1:30a.m. We will bump up from 211 to 385 cfs--and increase of 126 cfs. This will put about 385 cfs in the Big Thompson below the dam. Flows might be a little higher at the canyon mouth, depending tributary contents.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
