Big South Update...

Hiked up from the take out a few days ago after running Joe Wright/Spencer. The Gauge was approx. 3.25 and the road was still closed.

It should be noted that there was about 5 river wide strainers between Slideways and the take-out. Most of these consisted of old-growth pines reaching from bank to bank right at and/or below water level.

Slideways was clean but scout around the corner for a log jam.

Tubular Balls was clean accept for the exit (which appeared managable).

The Rush had 2 of the 5 strainers right in the meat of the drops.

Be heads up if your the first one in!

long draw road is open. we will most likely be the first crew in, with an early start sat. couple other groups coming up as well. i'm sure we'll be sharing in wood extraction duties, & probably won't get everything out on first run. level as of fri p.m. was 3', surging to 3.25' (high side o' good).

i'm sure there will be plenty of reports come monday ...
