Best place to take classes?

Looking at taking some kayaking classes ....where would you suggest?
  • least expensive would nice
  • able to use my own kayak nice too
  • most important i want someone who really knows and not someone who started a class just because they can

Think about coming to Training Camp. Great way to meet other newbies. The discount was extended, good through tomorrow.

It's a bit of a drive, but we've been teaching classes for over 2 decades at 4Corners Riversports. We absolutely let you use your own boats and gear.

Most River People are GREAT People!!

I love Confluence Kayaks as well don't get me wrong (They originally taught me to kayak and my wife and kids go there all the time and we know most of the staff) WE LOVE CONFLUENCE!!, but RA Guides has GREAT people as well and can actually certify you as an ACA instructor and SWR instructor along with simple Level I - III training courses. I'm not sure about Confluence (not to say they can't either).

Here's an INSPIRATIONAL video from First Descents camp last year on "TAILZ" a blind kayaker that I personally helped Brad take down the river (I was in orange helmet and yellow kayak in the video while Brad Ludden was leading "TAILZ").

Renaissance Adventure Guides was the INSTRUCTOR and OUTFITTER for the young adults with cancer who had never kayaked in their life along with some still being in "Chemotherapy". I think the video speaks for it's self, and it's only one story. I'll let you be the judge!! First Descents and Renaissance Adventure Guides ROCKS!!

Cheers!!
