Best books to read on the river???

Heading down the big ditch in late April for 3 weeks and gonna need some books to read. Got any ideas?

Another good couple reads by Cormac McCarthy include The Road and Child Of God. CoG is short and would make for a creepy time on the rio.

We Swam the Grand Canyon: The True Story of a Cheap Vacation that Got a Little out of Hand

Two guys in wool long johns, rubber shirts and tied to two floating gear boxes swim the whole thing...in 1955. Writing is nothing special but it is an amazing tale of a freakish accomplishment.
