how long is the length that you describe, and is the Valle bridge camping area a) clearly labeled in order to avoid cottonwood and b) close to road access in order to hitch a ride back to salida the next day?
sorry to have so many questions- i just get over protective with my yound daughter on the river...
Salida to Rincon is 10 miles. About 2hrs right now. Rincon to Valle Bridge is another 10 miles. Slower than the first section because of the Howard flats. Rapids include, Bear Creek, Badger Creek, and Tin Cup as well as a few other Class II type of drops. Put in at Salida boatramp and take out at Valle Bridge or scout Cottonwood and see what you think and then take out at Lone Pine or somewhere.
Salida to Pinnicle Rock is more like 50 miles.
My kids were boating this section since they were 18months old at this flow. Glad to help....
