felt like 150 to me, maybe a little higher. Boney but good to go and still fun. Minor wood issues, that could use a little attention, but are fine at the moment.

I will definitely go again tomorrow.

Which gauge do we want to go with for Bear Creek? Currently pointing to DWR Bear Creek at Morrison.

USGS - BEAR CREEK ABOVE BEAR CREEK LAKE NEAR MORRISON, CO

or

DWR - BEAR CREEK AT MORRISON (BCRMORCO)

Dave is a pretty good judge of flows, maybe "BEAR CREEK ABOVE BEAR CREEK LAKE NEAR MORRISON" gage is a better. It does seem to have a smoother graph and maybe less jumpy. What did Gordon use? Are you out there G?

Bear creek was fun today. The level didn't come up like the metro denver rivers did because it was snowing up in the foothills.

What is nuts is that it snowed 26" in evergreen and the forecast calls for warming this week. Bear creek is going to kick ass when all that snow goes.

What a great storm...

Paul,

My vote is for the Bear about Bear Lake just because it updates more frequently that Bear at Morrison. I think it reads a high in a rainstorm, but it's probably just fine for a snow run-off situation. FWIW, my guess about yesterday's flows were just a little plus of 150. I haven't looked at the gauges yet to see what they said. I hit a lot less rocks than 130 and a lot more than 230.

The wood situation was pretty good considering the run we're talking about. When it starts to really run I bet a lot of it will resolve itself. I only saw one log that was 3/4's across the stream AND anchored to it's stump on the bank.

I'll own up to telling Paul to use the DWR gauge. I think its further upstream and more accurate because the USGS gauge includes small lower tribs during rain events. Last night felt like about 140 to me, which is what the DWR gauge was reading. On the other hand, the USGS gauge does update more frequently.

Either way, its super fun. It should be good early next week after the predicted warm-up.
