Be Chill on Willow

Willow Creek rumors seem to abound this spring. We were up there yesterday. Here are some facts:

-The wood hasn't shifted.

-It was in the 200 CFS range.

-Pretty low but fun.

-The gauge is off. There is a # to call. I don't have it but will try to update soon. Above 300 would be even better.

-There is only one fence and it's still at the end, near the confluence.

Best to take out in Clark and put-in at the bridge on 126. Avoid parking on Seedhouse Road all together, thus avoiding the landowner. If you see him when you portage the fence, simply walk around and put on the Elk. Avoid conflict please. The dude is violent and unstable. This is a classy run with continuous whitewater we don't want to lose. Help keep the Routt Co. Sheriff's Department on our side. Thanks. Have fun out there.

Take note, people. The local LEOs are on the side of the boaters here - use your heads and don't give them a reason to re-consider their position!

If things bode with with Routt County LE, it may help us in other parts of the state. Police talk with each other and word gets around, so keep that in mind when you go.

Is it possible to hike along the Willow Creek rapids without trespassing?

Floating it is the only way to NOT trespass.
