Hi all,

Mark your calendars for August 13th and 14th for another Bailey Fest. Denver Water is hopeful that it can happen. My guess is that we are looking at a 60/40 chance.

This year, Colorado Whitewater has stepped up to run the event with help from Ian Foley. The club does a lot of great things for beginning boaters and decided that this event is a great way to serve a different segment of the boating community. I joined the board of CW this year and will be putting the event together with some help from the board and, of course, Ian.

Ian created one of the better paddling parties out there and its important that we keep it going.

So keep your fingers crossed that Denver Water will deliver and keep that weekend open. As Ian has said so many times before, TURN ON THE TUNNEL!!

Nice work Pete! Big props to Pete and CW for taking the ball and running with it. Denver Water is committed to doing Bailey Fest releases long term. They have stated that in low water or normal water years that doing Bailey Fest should be manageable. In high water years, its a lower probability. This year is a high water year, but summer heat is melting the snow quickly and we have a decent chance of being right back into late summer low water with need for the tunnel. Landowner is still in as well, so its all set up, just a matter of waiting to see what mother nature delivers. Turn on the tunnel!!!
