Ark flows question

I see that the Ark guages show water in Salida and all the way down river. But the guages on the Numbers/Browns are all showing 0.

Anybody up there know if 3 dedicated ELFers could work our way down either of those runs this Sat.

Long drive for no water. Thanks

Don't know what the level is now but if you are "dedicated ELFers" then you'll be fine. If its 200 or above then Pine Creek down goes. Below 200 Piney is good for laps but the paddle into @1 is a scrape and long. At below 200 I put in at #4 and take out at the Miner's Campground below #7. I've paddled that at 120.

They said in the recovery effort at Frog Rock yesterday the river was flowing 132 cfs. The Granite gauge says 124 this morning, Detail Graph, should be somewhere between the 2.
Phil's advice is dead-on. You might want to look at 5 before you run it, there is a very tight, but doable move at the entrance.

The Ark USGS gages don't report in the winter, but the state gages do. If you add the Clear Creek Gage to the Granite gage you get 140 CFS this morning for Pine Creek and the Numbers. The Granite gage did swing 50 CFS yesterday. The Salida gage should be good for Browns and is at 330 CFS.

I've boated the Numbers at 225 and Browns at 350. I like to spend more time on the water than the drive it takes to get wet. ELFing the Numbers if you haven't done it before is fun, but I'd choose Browns this weekend.

Even better at current flows and if you have more than a day to boat, is to spend an afternoon on Parkdale followed by the Royal Gorge the next day.

Trebor,,,i'd consider the royal gorge for the weekend; flows up north here pretty low,,Phil U. is right, 200 is probly min for piney#s, but you could go @150. i bet there's enough lower elevation snowmelt to make gorge alittle better right now. whatd'ya think? any more hope for the Big T this season????

BOR is moving water again this winter and has bumped up flows. There's 200 CFS in PC/#'s and 400 in Browns, now.

Enjoyed the Gorge yesterday, but the shades gotten too continuous to go again until spring. Best part is seeing no one else except a train crew setting up a Xmas display.
