I demoed the CR 250 and then the 6.9. I like the 6.9 better and purchased it. I am at most a class III boater and about 5' 11" and 190 LBS. The 6.9 seamed to cut in and out of eddies a little sharper and I like the fit better. the CR was a nice boat and may be a better choice for river running. I think the CR may spin better. I went through house rock in the CR and got spun when I didn't really want to be (read about the spin disk). Got turned upside down and my legs slipped off the braces.
Although probably unwarranted it left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. But again consider my experience. The outfitting in both boats is nice and if I had been able to get the cockpit adjusted properly in the CR I may have liked it better. The 6.9 has less volume and is a little shorter but I think they are about the same width. I am really liking the the 6.9 so far and I think it was a better choice considering my size, ability and goals. I only demoed the CR once but was able to get in the 6.9 multiple time and the more I paddled it the more comfortable I became. The only way to tell is demo them both.
I may demo the CR again next year.
