Any ice on the Ark - Parkdale?

Thinking of head over on Monday to Parkdale. I've never seen it completely ice over but then again I'm usually not boating it in late Dec. Any info on it's condition? Thanks.

Saw it last week on a cruise up to Cotopaxi. There are some pretty substantial ice-dams in quite a few places. You could probably still scrape down 5 points, spikebuck, and sharks tooth......that's about it. You'll be paddling along with some good sized ice cubes as well. Parkdale really doesn't see much sun this time of year.......

Be careful if you go, I did it a couple years ago the day after xmas and exiting the river is one of the toughest parts. Most of the river-bank "eddies" required a boof up onto an ice shelf.

Still fun though, but you're kind of stuck to one or two rapids.

Yeah, GoodTimes is correct, we drove past that stretch today on our way up to Monarch.

Spikebuck, 5 Points, and Shark's Tooth are all in, but there are riverwide frozen sections/sheets of ice scattered all along the run forcing you to have to portage a lot. Looked pretty Low and pretty cold, but definately enough water to float a kayak down.

first off...get a new name you are confusing me

it has been really cold around here lately. I find things get way better in February on most years with regards to ice.

Plus the skiing is unreal right now...

Mike - I was thinking of sending you the paperwork to file for a new name myself. Good thing we aren't John Smith...

Yea, I've boated the Ark slushy in Feb before and had a good time. Was hoping for similar conditions now but sounds like no. Ski? Only when my wife and daughter make me. Climb at Shelf? Now yer talkin'.
