Another loser

I fear my new Wave Sport Diesel 75 (yellow and orange) is probably stuffed in a log jam somewhere in the Lower Rockwood Box, but if anyone paddling the Upper Animas happens to see it, please give me a call.

The boat and my AT paddle were last seen at No Name Rapid around noon on Sunday after a spectacular high-water spanking. Although the boat belongs to me, the only name (and phone number) in it is "Mountain Quest Sports" in Edwards. They know how to reach me. My phone number is on the paddle, but no name.

You might also find an Aqua Bound breakdown floating around somewhere between Silverton and New Mexico too.

Thanks,
Scott Willoughby

we'll see. the better story was told by the old grandma with the chainsaw we met up with at Needleton.

"You're not the first. We see it all up here," she said, then proceeded to launch into the tale about the overweight guy who got off the train a year or two ago and tried to climb one of the nearby 14ers.
"My sister-in-law took one look at him and said, 'He ain't never gonna make it.' Sure enough, he had a heart attack that night and they had to carry him back down to the train. Then they wrapped him up and strapped him to the roof of the coal car because they didn't want any of the customers to see him. Course that all changed when he fell off."

So I figure I got that going for me.

I've been out of CO for a while but have you done a piece on the river/landowner access issues....if not i hope you consider it, we need that kind of exposure.

yeah, that's the way granny told it. strapped him to the roof so he didn't scare the paying customers.

we just did something about access issues and will continue to as warranted. not sure it's ever going to change, however.

oh, and never mind about the kayak. I got it back.
