Many of you may have seen this, but I watch it every so often. I am not sure who is in it, but I think Walt Blackadar may be one of them. Any one got any info on this? I will post a few old school boating videos of guys running the shit. If you find any other great old school footage please post it. The pioneers of this sport did some amazing things.
Not as impressive as Devil's Canyon, but still awesome.
Wondering if any knows/ knows of Ken Lagergren. It says he is an Idaho local, and "Big Water Specialist"
This is rafting related, but I still find it amazing. "A Glorious Way To Die"

Call me crazy, but I have sat in awe, and wonder at some of the old stories of boating back in the day. I took my SWR, and ACA kayak instructor cert. From Jimmy Holcombe. He told me a story about Walt Blackadar. He said that Walt would drink "Green Dragons" basically a mixture of green Kool-Aid, and Vodka. Then run the shit. He said they put on on high water Chattooga all the way at the top, and Walt was having trouble in the creeky character of the Upper Chattooga. Then they got to Section IV where the water was big, and so were the holes. He said they were all standing there looking at this huge hole talking about portaging it, and Walt said, "What hole?'' Jumped in his boat, and punched it.
Please post any other footage you may find, and/ or stories you have of the old days.
