A Photographic Ode to the Big Thompson

It was good while it lasted. Check out our Big Thompson Photo gallery. If you're in the gallery and aren't identified, please send us your info. And please send us more pics to help us pay tribute to this fall classic now on it's way down.

Btw, thanks for the updates Ms. Lamb.

What, no paddler sans boat shots? What a disappointment.

Nice shots!
Makes me wish I had taken up kayaking about 30 years ago. I think I'm too old to start now.

It's never to late to start kayaking.

I added some more shots. Some of them make that creek look insane.

Man, I was wondering if that was the spot where MP's boat ended. That spot would be lethal for a swimmer/upside down boater. It's in the middle of the current with a decent rapid above and makes a very serious pin spot. Ugh, makes me shiver.

Big Thompson Flows update

Over the weekend, as you all probably noticed, releases from Olympus Dam to the Big Thompson River dropped to about 115 cfs.

That will be our release to the river for a while.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

P.S. I showed the photos around the office. Everyone was impressed!

Everyone here would be glad to give your co-workers and the engineers at the dam and powerplants a first hand look, if they would turn the water back on just for that day.

- I know its not your choice or their's, but we'll keep trying any way possible for our late season boating-
