hey craw, when/what weekend is the LOG?

For the rodeo, are the only classes: cadet, novice/intermediate (@ black bear) and pro (@ a)? Is there an expert class (@ the a hole)?

thanks, and looking forward to another great event.

"Hey Wang, take it easy on the pictures!!" The great dangerfield...

Yep... next weekend starting the 12th with the pro-prelims, skateboard events, and clinics offered by JK at 10 am... Also that night is a big kick off party with live music and BBQ!!!

LOG is growing up to be a pretty kick ass time. Hopefully the kayak community comes out to fire it up!

Adam Barron Memorial Creek Race

The South Saint Vrain creek race is shaping up to have the best flows ever for race day. Last Thursday Marty and I walked this years course and saw low but friendly flows of 240cfs (estimate). It looks like the weather will stay cool this week, which will hopefully keep flows consistent. Warm weather could bring the river up, but the Narrows and Jihad (aka Schoolgirl) have decent padding as is. All of the Colorado creek boaters that have been waiting for good flows to race, this is your year to see how you stack up against the pros.

The race is a .4 mile section starting at the first large riverside pulloff above the Narrows. From here it's .2 miles to the entrance drop of the class V+ Narrows. The second half (.2 miles) of the race includes all of the Narrows, and the final drop, Jihad. Hoping to get a cowbell for the finish line. Times will be tight in this sprint race down a big pile of blast rock love.

Racers: You must attend the 9 am race meeting in Bohn Park in order to race. Anyone not at the race meeting (ie taking practice runs or sleeping) will not compete. From Bohn Park all racers will be bussed to SSV. Any racers not on the race bus will not compete. All competitors must have a minimum of 3 runs down the Narrows in order to race.

10:15 am start time. Each racer gets one run. Fastest time wins CASH. Or maybe a big check. I don't know.

VOLUNTEER! We are in need of more paddlers to help with safety, and looking for another helper with times. Please send me a message if you can lend a hand.

Looking forward to seeing some Colorado talent at this years LOG.

Hey... winner takes home 400.00 CASH!!! That is both for the 400 for the ladies and 400 for the boys!!! Supposed to be in the high 70's this weekend and sunny.

The Adam Barron Creek Race is now talked about as one of the premier races on the colorado circuit. It's tough, steep, and one that allows the local boys a chance to beat the best of the pro's by simply knowing the hard to remember lines.

Get out there and practice up. It's gonna be a kick ass race.

I will wager that there is going to be about a 40% piton/caning ratio if the race includes that last drop. Safety crew should pack the ace bandages and splints...

ACC, maybe you thought that I was racing as reason for the bandages and splints? HA!!!

It's gonna be good, and having Kyle in charge is kicking up the energy a good bit. Stoked to see who wins.

Cool, I know the lines for that section. Do I have to start at river level for the race, or I can I start at the top of the retaining wall and just start running along the road with the boat on my shoulder?
