Remember: its a "surf boat" not a "surf board"

Refer to the kayak only as a "surf boat" and no issues should arise with any of the major carriers (except for United who sucks).
United will give you the run around in a different manner at almost every airport
Continental has been slightly more accepting than United.
Stick to Delta Airlines, they are the most boater friendly and usually charge $50 or nothing depending on who is processing you.
