Sorry, just saw this. The Smith rarely runs after June 1st. The drainage is really low and doesn't hold snow. To run SF is a fun stretch. Just make sure to take out above the gorge, which involves a bit of a hike up a steep trail from the river. Basically, you will drive to the second bridge going up the SF. Put in there and float to the normal put in for the SF Gorge. So make sure you stop and know exactly what that looks like. There are a couple III+ or IV- rapids on the SF above the gorge too. I'm not aware of any maps of the run.
