You know who you ought to reach out to? BCJ AKA Buck. He's in Grand Junction, and runs a lot on your end of the state. He's been on Dolores, and does Westwater a lot; also the fool has a GC permit for this August. i think it's full, but you never know. PM him here and tell him I said so.

Where and when did you guide? I ran Dolores from Slickrock to Gateway, before McPhee was in. We had looked at the section below Gateway and declined to even try and run it; the equipment we had in the 70's wasn't good enough. I know they run now all the way to the confluence and I've seen videos, in some measure it's because the flow and river have changed, but I'm still impressed. Never got above Bradfields ranch, even to scout it.
As to running again, I'd like to, and especially I'd like to get on Dolores again, and Grand Canyon. The reality is, the spirit is willing but the body may not be.
I'd be glad to share what I have on Dolores, but until the rascals holding the controls on McPhee open up, your best course is to walk it. Sadly.
