We could daisy chain our pa with your small rental pa, we have all the mics and our pa has enough channels to accommodate all mics . We have access to a snake, we have shelters and tarps. Christmas lights.... if we could wave camping fees we play for free. do our own sound.

hey ian! There would be no stage , we could bring our own sun shades and tarps and such. some plywood and carpet for the drums. fairly certain we could be self sufficient and get it done ourselves... we have all of the gear.... Not quality, but I'm certain it would work... we played outside at ben's house for a block party 3 weeks ago..... Not entirely sure everyone in the band is "in" yet... but if we had the okay I'm sure we could do it.... We are ambitious! Chrispy.... 720- 266-7019 text or call. I'll let you know more when I hear from the guys... There are four of us, (drummer, bassist, rhythm guitar, and me, vocals and guitar)

Probably a sign attached to a tree "4 Falls Portage Here" so people would use this over going to the micro eddies & tearing up the hillsides there. Maybe a warning sign just upstream to let people know to catch this eddy, etc.

I know when he was driving up the road today & encountered our group, the meeting was not as cordial as the one I had had with him on Saturday. I believe the major concern was people peeing in the road aka disrespecting his property. Maybe if we started with the stairways proposal, showing our collective intentions to respect his property are genuine, maybe a followup idea that would take more efforts, etc., could be to install a stand-alone decomposing outhouse in this area.

I'd donate time to either, & if I couldn't be there (always traveling for work) I'd donate money for materials or beer for those that could take part in installing the stairway.

What do you think? Maybe post this on the buzz & see the interest out there?

Hey Ian, thanks so much for Bailey Fest 2011! Great time!

Just a thought on the 4 Falls property owner given this rapid is at minimum a scout & for most a mandatory portage. I am imagining you were in contact with him leading up to the event, & he was not just down there working, when out of the blue a 100+ kayakers came through his property several times.

I think most people are using the large eddy upstream now versus the micros further down. As the "road" is pretty close, the hillside is steep & is of loose composition, & all the foot traffic of the kayakers can cause erosion issues, maybe it could be presented to him the kayaking community installs a stairway for this location.

I'm thinking it could be 1 or 2 simple stairways cut into the hillside using landscaping timbers & rebar stakes. Nothing fancy needed, but something that would stop the need for everyone coming out of the eddy to have to chew up the hillside at random locations & causing further erosion in the area.

Hi Ian, I met you last year at Bailey fest, although there were so many people there don't worry about not remembering me - thanks btw for organizing that...looks like everyone is psyched already for it again this yr!

I saw a pic of you in the narrows on CC at 93 cfs...I hadn't thought about hopping on it that low but sounds like it goes, eh?
I think the gauge is approaching 80 so I'll be keeping watch for the 100 cfs mark to get on it. I only ran BR last year once, when we got that extra water at the end of the season...I think it was at about 250. I would love to catch BR on its way up before it gets too high.
If you get think you might run it super low and wouldn't mind me joining up, let me know.
    thx,
    Beth

Hey Ian, what are you boating after work this week and when?

Nice response to my thread. Most people seem to lack creativity. Actually 500 is the level I fear. I give me 3K any day.
