With your permission, I'm adding this to the AW accident report. Please notify me of any corrections or deletions: ccwalbridge@cs.com

A knowledgeable source commented: Although Gore Canyon was near the limits of Ms. McVay's skill, she had run it many times, usually portaging Gore Rapid. This time she had difficulties above Gore Rapid and decided to hike out, but later returned to the river and continued downstream alone. She swam above Pyrite Rapid, reaching shore with her back to steep cliffs. She fell trying to climb out over those cliffs.

    Hi Dave,

I was wondering if you knew how to get in touch with Steve- the guy from Vermont that you boated with today (Thursday, July 21) on Boulder Creek- who swam near the top. I was taking some pictures of Seth, Scott, and Anthony as they ran the upper section, and found one of his float bags that he lost when he swam- although actually it was rescued from the river by a guy smoking up and reading "Through the Looking Glass" by the river :).

Anyway, if you have some way for me to contact him or get his float bag back to him, I would appreciate the info.

Hope the run went well for you, and that your shoulder was happy!

    Best,

    Allison Tillack

    Dave,

Ran BC today @ 1100 in my cat. What a hoot! Had my leg taped up tight and it hurts now but was worth it. Are you going to be on BC Sunday? Want to get my daughter out. Richard 303-589-3021

Dave, you can't put in at the RR. They will call the cops. The legal fishing access is a pain in the ass, even if you are just carrying a fishing pole! I gave up on boating it due to access until the land owners on Ranch Creek decided to let local boaters put on their land IF we met them and and got a parking permit and signed a waiver. They are a very nice elderly couple who really had no problems allowing people to use their land, until last year a horde of non-local boaters decided to party on their land and leave a bunch of trash on their land. They felt pretty violated. Locals are keeping it pretty quiet bec. if people continue causing problems, or there are large numbers of folks, they will not allow anyone access. Hopefully AWA will figure out a legal access bec. the Fraser is a nice stretch of river, especially at these flows. I'll be running it this Fri and Sat if you want to go. 303-912-9667.

    Hey Dave,
Were you on the MFS in late May of this year? I ran a yellow cat through Dagger and two other ran two boats through from my group. I was wondering from you recent comment on the blog about replacing a blade if that was you who told one person in our group "no guarantees" Stephen
