    Looks huge from that angle....What flow do you figure that was?

    It peaked at 600. We ran it at 5pm. It will probably drop out all week, but look for it this weekend. It is a sick drop. Three first-timers styled it. I basically gomered it, slightly pitoned, and still didn't get hurt.

    There is one portage due to a wood jam in the mile. lots of wood on the banks. I'd suggest doing all scouting before you run it because it is tight.

    Any advice on avoiding the piton? Were you in the wrong place or just not flat enough?

    I was a little too far river-left. Next time, instead of going directly over the roostertail at the top (it's obvious), I will go just to the right of it. I'd like to be about 3-4 feet to the river-right of the paddler in the photo.
    It's sorta bouncy as you go down the slide, sorta at the river's mercy after that.
