    Fellow gauge dork --

We checked the gauge about two hours before we put on and it said 3.2 that morning (surging to 3.2, but never troughing below 3.15, so...3.2). It felt significantly lower than that to me when we were in the canyon -- i'd guess 3.0 or even a little less. Bear in mind that Atom says it peaks about 4 am so it falls throughout the day. TK said he thought the old gauge might be reading a little high and I think he might be right.

FWIW, 3.0 was preeetty bony, but I was still glad we made the trip given the kind of season it looks like we're going to have. And as always, camping at Atom's was a hoot!

Agree with Freemont's assessment. What the flow is and which gauge to trust has become confusing. I think I'm just going to stick with the Embudo Creek at Dixon gauge and lump it in the high/med/low category. It was definitely a little higher on Friday than it was on Saturday. I'd say it was medium-low based on the flows it tends to get run. There sure was no shortage of carnage though.
